Explaining the Circuit

A 3-day basketball camp was held at the Headland Sports Hall in partnership with Sports Development and Hartlepool HEAT Basketball Club as part of the sports development Easter Holiday Programme.

30 children from the age of 8-15 all took part in a successful programme designed by Hartlepool HEAT coaches. The mornings consisted of all the children working in pairs around a circuit which including Dribbling, Passing, Rebounding, Defensive moves, Shooting and Fitness with the aim to improve their personal best score and technique by the end of the 3- days while the afternoons were used to work on the basics and each day was finished off by playing games. Over 14 HEAT coaches were on hand over the 3- days to offer expert coaching and guidance for the children. The coaches were so impressed the club decided to give out some prizes as a reward. The three medals went to Kathryn Bacon, Matthew Chapman and Connor McNicholas for outstanding performances throughout the 3-days, while other children received sports bags, caps and some even received a HEAT t-shirt.
