HEAT were off to a flyer in this match as they took a quick 14-0 lead thanks to some good baskets from Trina Fenny and Pat Ferry. HEAT started off at a very fast pace which the Vikings struggling to block off HEAT’s constant pressure and both defence and offense. The first quarter ended 2-20.
In the 2nd quarter HEAT continued to pile on the pressure, as their offense continued to pile on the pressure with thanks to Jenna Horsely and Sharon Weatherill. The Vikings started putting more pressure on HEAT in this quarter, scoring and defending better than what they did in the first quarter, however HEAT continued to pile on the pressure in defence to stop them attacking the basket.
The 2nd Quarter ended and HEAT had a commanding half time 19-38 lead.
In the 3rd Quarter HEAT had their highest scoring quarter scoring 25 points. HEAT took over in this quarter with some great link up play from the entire team and some good baskets from Rachel Campbell and Jess Coates. The 3rd Quarter ended 28-63
In the 4th Quarter, HEAT continued to keep up their work rate and had a great finish to the match with some great work up and down the court to seal the victory for HEAT, the match ended 35-87 and both Poppy Fisher and Sarah Ferry had excellent games.
