Young HEAT show Saints the Way.
HEAT made it two wins in a row with a well-won home game against Durham Saints.
HEAT edged a close 1st quarter 19 – 17, Adam Musgrave running the floor early on for two lay-ups in quick succession. Saints had to come to play though and both teams matched each other basket for basket as the quarter ended.
In the 2nd quarter HEAT started to apply a little more pressure and with it followed two three pointers from Lewis Fisher and six points in a row from the games M.V.P. Joe Davison. With the Hartlepool side comfortable they were able to make changes and rest players helping them to stretch their lead to 40 – 30 at half time.
Davison picked up where he left off in the 3rd with 8-points supplemented by two 3-pointers from Adam Wilcox and an impressive debut from Micah Imnes coming off the bench. HEAT led 64 – 47 going into the 4th quarter.
In the final quarter HEAT fielded some of its younger talent and sent out a mix of youth and experience including a another debut, this time it was Cameron Battman who impressed with excellent defensive qualities against much bigger, stronger and experienced players. More 3-pointers from Wilcox and a strong couple of baskets from Andrew Ray saw HEAT ease to a comfortable 83 – 59 victory.
