Durham Panthers 49 Vs Hartlepool HEAT 62
HEAT take win in Durham
The Men’s seconds got their first win of the season in a very low scoring game against a new look Durham Panthers who have only kept two players from last year’s team.
HEAT took a commanding 18-7 opening quarter with baskets from Andrew Ray and Anthony Reed only for the Panthers to slowly work their way back into the game throughout the second quarter.
HEAT worked through their offences as the Durham team got used to playing with their new teammates and slowly ate away at Hartlepool’s lead.
An 8-2 Durham run midway through the third quarter brought the Panthers within 2-points of HEAT and the momentum was with the home team.
A fats break by Davison and two free throws plus support by Eddie Campbell gave HEAT the left they needed and by the end of the third quarter they’d pulled 8-points clear of Durham.
Panthers kept eating away at HEATs score in the fourth but two big 3’s from Wilcox then one by Reed gave HEAT all the breathing space they needed as they ran out comfortable winners in the end.
