In their second game in 3 days HEAT travelled to Ormsby to take on the Tigers in what always proves to be a tough physical game. This was no exception.
HEAT started with a 3 from Robinson but Tigers hit back with a 3 of their own from Mackie and a Wooslams field goal. With a converted AND1 from Colmer HEAT took a 1-point lead, which opened up to five after good shooting from Robinson. Tigers still had time to add another 4 points before the end of the 1st. HEAT leading a close game 11-9.
A quick change in Personal and defense soon had HEAT firing on all cylinders as McKenzie, Ord and Errington attacked the Tigers basket with force. Tiger’s reply was through Wooslams as he battled for rebounds and loose balls to keep Tigers only 3 short of HEAT. A good 3-minute spell from Colmer and Robinson gave HEAT a 6-point advantage but Wooslams again clawed the Tigers back within 3 points at the end of the half.HEAT lead 29-26
In the 1st 3 minutes Tigers came out dominant and with baskets from Cowell and Wooslams they were able to draw level with HEAT who struggled in the opening minutes. Coach Thomas called a time-out and HEAT re-grouped.
A 17-1 run followed including 11 personal from Robinson as HEAT smothered Tigers at both ends of the floor and finished the quarter strong 19-6.
Going into the 4th HEAT continued to push Tigers all the way as McKenzie and Ord slashed their way to the basket and Wilcox and Ray shut the Tigers Offense down. An AND1 from Robinson and a fast break from Musgrave sealed Tigers fate even though Wooslams continued to chip away for the home team.
