Heat clashed with Hornets for the second time within a week albeit in a different league but the outcome was the same.
The two front-runners of The Teesside League met at Brinkburn in what was an excellent display for the league. Heat took the early lead through Robinson but Hornets answered with Anderson and Burrell before Turner brought Heat back into it with some superb outside shooting. Ord then continued for Heat driving and slashing to the basket drawing fouls but was unable to make both free-throws. With Norton hitting the outside shot Hornets pulled it back and took the lead taking the quarter 23-17.
The 2nd saw Heat go through a familiar phase of inconsistency as they struggled to score managing only 8- points in 10 minutes were as Hornets scored 19 and due to this Heat trailed at half-time 42-25.
The 3rd started slowly with both teams not scoring regularly then Hornets started to pull away again and not even the excellent drives and defence from Ord could stop Heat falling to a 27-point deficit. Then in the 6th minute it all changed Heat lead by Ord and supported by Robinson went on a 14 - 2 point run ending the quarter strong and the gap only 13-points.
Heat came out for the 4th all FIRED up after a team talk and quickly tried to pull back the 13-point deficit. With Robinson leading the attack it looked like it could happen but Hornets through excellent work from Burrell on both ends of the floor and James dominant in the paint they pulled away even further. It wasn’t until a late run that Heat try to get something from the game but it wasn’t to be.
