HEAT holds on for win.
With a full squad and the welcomed return of their captain, HEAT were looking to end a run of losses. Intensive defence and fast breaking from HEAT caught the Durham team off guard and with baskets from Hitchings, Dougherty and Boyd, HEAT were 11-0 up after 5-minutes. A basket from the home side looked to give Durham some lift but a couple of baskets from Dougherty and with Fisher on the court adding a couple of points HEAT finished the quarter a strong 18-6.
HEAT led by Hitchings continued the attack in the 2nd as HEAT romped to a 28-8 lead while Durham were struggling find the basket on their home court with outside shooting. In last minute of the half the HEAT were awesome and Boyd was inspirational with steals and fast breaks managing a personal 8-points in less than a minute.

Durham came out in the 3rd fired up and hit The HEAT with a 9-0 run before HEAT responded with six unanswered points of their own with great plays by Lord, Horsley and Connor. Good basketball followed by both teams until Hitchings went over and dislocated her ankle, with Hitchings in a lot of pain and her team mates very worried Durham stepped it up in the 4th.
Durham came out firing in the 4th with 15 unanswered points, bringing themselves within 4 points of HEAT at 51-56. Dougherty makes an excellent basket AND1 and converts it giving HEAT some space to breath before Durham put the pressure back on with another basket. 59-53. HEAT respond through Boyd and with 3 minutes remaining it was anyone games. A foul by Lord and another by Boyd give Durham the chance to close the gap to 3-points but missed free throws ensured HEAT ran the clock out for the Win.
